INTRODUCTION (from insulbar.com site) :

insulbar® – the insulating profile

Under the insulbar® brand name, we develop, produce and market insulating bars for the thermal separation of doors, windows and facades in metal. Quality made in Germany – for more than 40 years.

Thermal separation of windows, doors and facades

Plastic insulating bars are a vital component of modern window, door or facade systems made of metal. They separate aluminium frames thermally from each other, thereby reducing loss of heat to a minimum. Insulbar® insulating profiles are available in many shapes and different materials. Depending on the window type and climatic conditions, all requirements for a window system can be fulfilled.

THE PRODUCT (from insulbar.com site) :

insulbar® insulating bars prevent loss of heat at the window

insulbar® is the brand name of insulating profiles from Ensinger, a Global Player with excellent credentials in plastics technology, and credited with being the inventor of the plastic thermal insulating bar. At the same time, insulbar® is synonymous with premium quality insulating profiles which are used for the thermal separation of aluminium profiles from the outer and inner shell of window, door and facade constructions.

EFFECTIVE INSULATION AND SAVINGS IN TERMS OF HEATING COSTS – WITH INSULBAR INSULATING PROFILES

insulbar® insulating bars, also known as insulating profiles, thermal insulating bars or thermal profiles, are extremely efficient at preventing energy losses in buildings and enable outstanding Uf values up to conformance with the stringent passive house standard. Lower energy consumption, reduced heating bills and a greener planet – these are the effects achieved through the use of insulbar®. Innovative drive, durability, stability and a consistently high standard of quality made in Germany – these are attributes for which insulbar® is known and which make it the product of choice the world over.

ECONOMICAL AND EASY TO PROCESS – NO MATTER WHAT THE APPLICATION

System manufacturers, metalworking firms and window producers benefit from the outstanding processing convenience and an extensive standard range. It contains insulating profiles in every conceivable form and dimension, and offers bars to fit all customary types of window, door and facade system in aluminium.

For particularly sophisticated systems and designs for which the standard range is not sufficient, we develop tailored individual non-standard profiles – reliably, at fair conditions, precisely to customer specification.

THERMAL SEPARATION (from insulbar.com site) :

Lower energy consumption and save costs – through thermal separation with insulbar®

Windows, doors and facades are the parts of any building envelope which give off most heat to the surrounding atmosphere. The less effective the insulation, the higher the loss of heat in the form of thermal transmission, heat convection and heat radiation.

PLASTIC INSULATING PROFILES REDUCE LOSS OF HEAT

Windows, doors and facade systems made of aluminium, with its high thermal conductivity of λ = 160 W/(m⋅K), are particularly susceptible to thermal and energy losses. In order to reduce the thermal transmission of these systems and to achieve a more favorable thermal transmission coefficient (U value), it is necessary to insulate the window frames and thermally separate their outer and inner shells from each other. Plastic insulating bars from Ensinger are the ideal way of doing this.

LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY FOR EXCELLENT UF VALUES

insulbar® insulating bars are characterized by extremely low thermal conductivity of, and so enable excellent Uf values for frames and assemblies, reduce loss of heat and so contribute towards saving energy reducing heating and air conditioning costs.

The lower the thermal transmission coefficient, the greater the scope for savings: Heating and air conditioning costs depend on the Uf value of the window frame.

HANDLING (from insulbar.com site) :

Insulating bar transport, storage and handling

To ensure the full functionality and high quality of our insulbar® insulating profiles, please observe the following information relating to transport, storage and handling.

insulbar® insulating profiles are extruded when dry, but – like all polyamide bars available in the marketplace – can absorb moisture from the air depending on temperature, relative humidity and length of storage. This should be avoided in order to exclude the possibility of problems later on during processing as a result of dimensional deviations or blister formation during stove enamelling.

The right conditions for transport

insulbar® insulating bars are individually cut to size, supplied loose by the metre, on request also bundled in containers or wooden crates or, for certain profile cross-sections, delivered in the form of coils. For transport, they should always be protected from the sun and rain under a tarpaulin.

Optimum handling

In order to avoid tolerance deviations and ensure high-quality processing, all the polyamide bars used in an assembly should be transported, stored and processed under identical conditions. To ensure this, we recommend ordering quantities specific to your requirement and specific production schedule. During all handling and storage, but in particular during processing, the ambient temperature should not drop below 15 °C.
